A dealership competes with the manufacturer's site, large listing portals and the dealer across town. A new dealer website that mirrors the manufacturer's copy has little to say that those sites do not already say better.
You can edit pages and inventory feeds, or your platform provider will let me.
Some dealer sites run on approved platforms with limited editing. I check what you can change before quoting.
The pages a dealer can win are local: inventory pages that stay accurate, service and parts pages for local owners, financing pages, and a Google profile that earns visits and calls. I focus on those.
No obligation · 30-minute call · Direct with me, not an account managerA shopper searching a model name sees the manufacturer, portals and review sites first. A shopper searching "used [model] in [city]" or "oil change near me" sees local results. That second group is where a dealer site can compete.
Google's Local Services Ads category list for the US does not include car dealers, so that channel is not an option. Manufacturer and listing-portal programs are separate paid options, and I compare them with organic work case by case.
Inventory is the main technical risk. If every vehicle page is auto-generated, expires when sold and returns an error, Google sees thin pages that vanish. Decide how sold-vehicle pages behave: redirect to similar inventory, or keep a page that shows the car as sold with alternatives. The service department is often the steadier profit source, so it needs its own pages and its own profile attention.
Reality check. A dealer site with a limited platform may not allow the page changes that matter. Settle this in the audit, not after the contract.
Use this to read a proposal.
| Line item | What it should do | What to ask for |
|---|---|---|
| Inventory pages | Rank for model and city searches | How sold vehicles are handled |
| Service pages | Bring in repair and maintenance work | Separate pages for oil change, brakes, tires |
| Financing page | Reduce form friction | Plain terms and a short pre-approval path |
| Google profile | Appear in map results | Separate profiles only for separate real locations |
| Reporting | Show sales and service leads | Leads by department |
Shoppers now ask AI tools which car to buy and which dealer to trust.

Closest published proof: the jewellery case study covers a high-consideration retail catalogue with product pages. The industry differs, so read it for the method, not as a result for your field.
