Website SEO Checker
By Digital Mansoor · 14+ years in SEO
Enter a URL. The tool fetches the page and tests more than 20 on-page and technical basics: indexability, title, description, headings, content, images, links, schema, social tags, mobile and delivery. You get a score and a list of what to fix first.
- Tests one URL against more than 20 on-page and technical basics and returns a score with a fix-first list.
- Covers noindex, canonical, title, meta description, H1, content length, image alt attributes, links, JSON-LD, Open Graph, mobile viewport, robots.txt, XML sitemap, HTTPS and compression.
- Optionally checks a target keyword in the title, H1, meta description, first 100 words and URL.
- Free, no signup. It reads raw HTML from my server. It does not run JavaScript or measure Core Web Vitals.
What is the Website SEO Checker?
A website SEO checker looks at a page the way a crawler first sees it and flags basic problems: a noindex tag, a missing title, two H1s, no sitemap, images without alt text. These are the checks to run before you spend time on anything harder.
This one fetches your page’s HTML and headers through my server, then checks them in your browser. With the extras option on, it also reads /robots.txt, your XML sitemap and /llms.txt.
It checks one URL at a time and covers on-page and basic technical issues. It does not look at backlinks, rankings or Core Web Vitals.
How to use the free Website SEO Checker
- Enter the page URL: Use the full address of the page you want to test, such as your home page or a service page. Without a scheme the tool tries https://.
- Add a target keyword (optional): Type the phrase the page should rank for. The tool checks whether it appears in the title, H1, meta description, first 100 words and URL.
- Leave the extra checks on: They add robots.txt, the XML sitemap and llms.txt to the result. Untick the box to test the page alone.
- Press Check website: The tool takes a few seconds. It makes a small number of requests to your site.
- Work through the Fix first list: The list is sorted by severity and weight. Fix failures before warnings, then run the check again to confirm.
- Repeat for key page types: Check the home page, a service page, a blog post and a category page. A template problem repeats across every page that uses it.
Example: input and output
The home page of digitalmansoor.com, checked with the keyword “seo consultant” and the extra checks on.
Results shown came from the live tool when I wrote this page, and they show a real gap on my own site: the home page has no og:image tag.
How the Website SEO Checker helps
- Gives you a quick triage of a page before a deeper audit, so you fix the cheap problems first.
- Finds issues that block or confuse indexing: noindex, a wrong canonical, a robots.txt that blocks everything, or an error status.
- Works as a spot check after a theme or plugin change, which can add noindex tags or remove canonicals without anyone noticing.
- Runs on any public URL, so you can compare your titles, schema and social tags with a competitor’s page.
Why use this Website SEO Checker
- Combines page-level checks with robots.txt, sitemap and server header checks in one run.
- Reads the live response from a server rather than HTML you paste, so headers such as X-Robots-Tag noindex are included.
- Sorts the fix list by severity and weight instead of listing every check in one flat table.
- Falls back to the whole body when a page has no main tag, so themes that build pages from custom blocks still get a content count.
- States its scope on the page and in the result: one URL, raw HTML, no JavaScript, no backlinks.
What the Website SEO Checker cannot do
- One URL per run. It is not a site crawler, so it will not find broken links, orphan pages or duplicate titles across a site.
- It reads raw HTML and does not run JavaScript. A page that renders its content in the browser can fail the content and heading checks even though Google can render it.
- Fetch time is measured from my server and includes the download. It is not Largest Contentful Paint, INP or any other Core Web Vitals metric. Use PageSpeed Insights for those.
- The length ranges for titles (30 to 60 characters) and descriptions (70 to 160) are rules of thumb. Google truncates by pixel width and can rewrite snippets.
- The score is a weighted checklist I set. It is not a Google score and does not predict rankings.
- It has no backlink, authority or ranking data. Those need a paid link and search index.
What happens to your data
The URL and keyword you enter go to my server only to fetch the page. The tool does not store the page or the result, but the requests appear in normal server logs like any web request. Requests are rate limited per visitor, and private or internal addresses are refused.
Website SEO Checker FAQ
How do I check my website SEO for free?
Enter the URL of a page in the tool and press Check website. You get a score, a fix-first list and a table of every check with its result.
What does a website SEO checker test?
This one tests indexability (status, noindex, canonical, robots.txt, sitemap), on-page elements (title, meta description, headings, content, images, links, schema, Open Graph, viewport, language) and delivery basics (HTTPS, fetch time, HTML size, compression).
What is a good SEO score?
Google has no SEO score. The score here is the weighted share of checks the page passes. A score above 80 means the basics are in place. It does not mean the page will rank.
Why does the tool say my page has no H1 when it does?
If JavaScript adds the H1 after the page loads, it is not in the HTML the tool reads. Check the page source. Google can render JavaScript, but server-rendered headings are safer.
Does it check Core Web Vitals or backlinks?
No. It does not run the page in a browser and it has no link data. Use PageSpeed Insights for Core Web Vitals and a link index for backlinks.
Can I check a competitor page?
Yes, any public URL. Compare titles, headings, schema and social tags to see what the page does that yours does not.
Why does the tool show a 403 or a timeout?
Some sites block requests from servers or unknown bots through a firewall or CDN. That is not a verdict on the site’s SEO. Try again later or check the page in a browser.
Is the Website SEO Checker free?
Yes. It is free and needs no signup. Each visitor can run a limited number of checks per hour.
