YouTube SEO Consultant: Get Your Videos Found in YouTube and Google

I'm Mansoor Bhanpurawala. I've done SEO since 2012. YouTube SEO helps people find your videos in YouTube search, suggested videos and Google results. I plan topics, optimise every video and connect the channel to your website and leads.

Quick answer: YouTube SEO is the work that helps your videos appear when people search YouTube or Google: topic and keyword research, titles, descriptions, chapters, captions, thumbnails, playlists, channel structure and video schema on your site. It connects views to leads, not only to view counts.

Who is behind this page

14 years of SEO. Here is what I can and cannot show on YouTube.

14 years

In SEO since 2012. Search, content and measurement habits carry over to video.

600+

Clients since 2012, across fintech, SaaS, healthcare, home services, jewellery, education and B2B.

0

YouTube client results on this page yet. I would rather say so than invent numbers. Ask on a call and I will show what I can verify.

Search first

My proof is in Search Console. The video work applies the same research and measurement rules.

I started in SEO in 2012 and went fully independent in 2020. I hold the Google Analytics (GA4) certification and the Microsoft Advertising Certified Professional credential. Read the full story on my About page.

What YouTube SEO covers

Eight parts of a video search plan.

I do this work myself. For scope and cost, message me on WhatsApp or call +91 90331 72192.

Channel audit

Where the channel stands today.

  • Top videos by impressions, click-through rate and watch time
  • Search and suggested traffic sources
  • Audience and topic fit
  • Channel name, handle, banner, about text and links
  • Playlists and sections
  • Competitor channels in your niche
You will see: a channel scorecard with gaps.

Topic and keyword research

Videos people search for, not videos you want to make.

  • YouTube autosuggest and search results
  • Google results that show videos
  • Questions from comments, sales calls and forums
  • Topic clusters that become playlists
  • Evergreen and trending balance
  • Language and region choices
You will see: a video calendar tied to search demand.

Titles, thumbnails and hooks

The click comes before the view.

  • Titles that state the promise with the keyword early
  • Thumbnail concepts that support the title
  • First 30 seconds that confirm the promise
  • Brief for editors and presenters
  • A/B testing where YouTube offers it
  • Brand consistency
You will see: click-through rate by video.

Descriptions, chapters and captions

Give YouTube and Google text to read.

  • First lines of the description written for search and humans
  • Chapters with clear labels
  • Accurate captions and transcripts, reviewed by a person
  • Links to relevant pages and playlists
  • Pinned comment with next step
  • Tags as a minor supporting field
You will see: more chapter and key-moment visibility in Google.

Playlists and channel structure

Help viewers watch more.

  • Playlists by topic and journey
  • Series naming rules
  • Channel trailer and featured sections
  • End screens and cards
  • Pinned videos
  • Consistent upload rhythm
You will see: session watch time and next-video clicks.

Video on your website

Make the video work for the page and the page work for the video.

  • Embed videos on relevant pages with a short summary
  • VideoObject schema with title, description, thumbnail and upload date
  • Video sitemap when it helps
  • Transcript or key points in text
  • Page speed safe embeds
  • Internal links between article and video
You will see: video appearing in Google results for page queries.

Shorts and repurposing

One idea, several formats.

  • Cut long videos into Shorts where it suits the topic
  • LinkedIn, Instagram and site clips
  • Blog posts built from video scripts
  • Reuse of expert interviews
  • Hooks for each format
  • No clips that mislead
You will see: reach by format.

Measurement and leads

Views are a start, enquiries are the point.

  • YouTube Studio: impressions, CTR, average view duration, returning viewers
  • GA4 tracking from YouTube and embeds to leads
  • UTM links in descriptions
  • Branded search growth after video launches
  • Monthly report
  • Retire or refresh what fails
You will see: leads and assisted conversions from video.
How a YouTube SEO project runs

Six steps from audit to monthly report.

No plan can guarantee views. A good plan raises the odds and shows what to keep making.

01

Audit the channel

I read YouTube Studio data, your top videos and competitor channels.

Output: Channel scorecard

02

Research topics

Search demand, SERP video presence and audience questions.

Output: Topic and keyword list

03

Plan the series

Playlists, titles, hooks and thumbnail briefs.

Output: Video calendar

04

Optimise each video

Title, description, chapters, captions, cards, end screens and linked pages.

Output: Publishing checklist per video

05

Connect to the site

Embeds, schema, internal links and GA4 tracking.

Output: Site and tracking updates

06

Review and iterate

Monthly: what got impressions, clicks and watch time, and what to repeat.

Output: Monthly report

The video checklist

25 checks before a video goes live.

I run this on every upload I am responsible for.

Topic

  • Real search demand or a clear audience question
  • Fits an existing playlist
  • Different from your last five videos
  • Answer you can show better than text
  • Worth a Google video result?

Title and thumbnail

  • Keyword near the start of the title
  • Promise is specific and honest
  • Thumbnail readable on a phone
  • Thumbnail supports, not repeats, the title
  • No misleading claim

Description and text

  • First two lines state the answer and keyword
  • Chapters added with clear labels
  • Captions edited by a person
  • Links to relevant page and playlist
  • Contact or next step stated

Channel

  • Playlist assigned
  • End screen and cards set
  • Pinned comment written
  • Channel links to the website
  • Upload time fits the audience

On site

  • Embedded on a relevant page
  • VideoObject schema valid
  • Transcript or summary added
  • Page loads fast with the embed
  • GA4 event for video leads
What I can and cannot control

YouTube decides what to show. I control the inputs.

Inputs I control

  • Topic choice and research
  • Titles, descriptions, chapters, captions
  • Thumbnail and hook briefs
  • Playlists and channel structure
  • Site embeds, schema and tracking

Signals I influence

  • Click-through rate
  • Average view duration and retention
  • Returning viewers
  • Search and suggested impressions

What I cannot promise

  • A number of views or subscribers
  • A ranking position
  • A viral video
  • Results without good video content
What I see go wrong

Seven YouTube SEO mistakes.

Optimising only for YouTube search

Many videos also appear in Google. Pair the video with a page that explains it.

Keyword-stuffed tags and descriptions

Tags play a minor role. A clear title and description matter more.

Misleading thumbnails

Clicks followed by quick exits hurt. Make the promise match the video.

Ignoring the first 30 seconds

Viewers decide fast. Confirm the promise early.

No link to a next step

Without a pinned link or page, views never become leads.

Automatic captions left uncorrected

Errors in captions hurt clarity and search text. A person should review them.

Judging by views alone

A video with few views but strong lead rate may outperform a viral one. Track both.

Every Search Console chart on my other pages comes from real client properties. For YouTube, I do not yet have client data I can show here. The charts below are Search Console results from other client sites, not from this service.

YouTube client results are not on this page yet.

Add a YouTube Studio export or screenshots for one or two channels and I will show impressions, click-through rate and watch time here. Until then I will not publish a chart I cannot back with data. On a call I can share what I have from video work and say plainly what it does and does not prove.

Each chart draws the confirmed start and end values from Search Console as bars. They are not daily data and show no curve in between. Exact monthly values come from the CSV exports. Search Console measures clicks and impressions, not revenue. Each property had several kinds of work running at once, so no chart isolates one service. Client names are withheld at their request. Screenshots available on a call.

Case studies

Search results that show how I measure.

These are search cases, not video cases. They show the research and reporting habits I bring to video.

SaaS

An accounting SaaS with the wrong traffic

Found: 3,980 clicks a quarter, zero non-branded.

Did: non-branded content, use-case pages, two free calculators, a comparison page, five directory listings.

Result: 0 to 445 non-branded clicks, 52,300 impressions, 104 AI-assistant visits.

What went wrong: branded clicks fell 31% and signups were never tracked.
Fintech

An Indian platform that lost half its traffic

Found: a footer hidden from crawlers and 302 redirects where 301s belonged.

Did: fixed both first, then a news section, hub-and-spoke blog, gold and silver rate pages, programmatic stock pages.

Result: Gold-rates page reached 53.2K clicks in about 3 months and silver-rates 47.2K in about 2.

What went wrong: navigational traffic fell 50% and transactional 60% as link equity moved to programmatic pages.
How long it takes

What to expect.

Nobody can promise a date. These ranges come from my own projects.

2 to 4 weeks

Setup

Channel audit, topics and the first optimised uploads.

2 to 3 months

Early signals

Impressions and click-through rate show which topics work.

6 to 12 months

Growth

Consistency and topic depth build a channel. Fast results are rare.

Ongoing

Compounding

Evergreen videos keep earning views for years.

YouTube results depend on the video itself. Optimisation helps good videos get found. It cannot rescue weak ones.

ROI and KPIs

I measure views and the leads behind them.

Impressions and CTR

From YouTube Studio, by video and traffic source.

Average view duration

How long viewers stay.

Search and suggested traffic

Where views come from.

Video in Google

Videos appearing in Google results for page queries.

Leads from video

GA4 events from video traffic and embeds.

If a KPI does not move, I say so and change the plan. I will not hide behind "rankings improved."

What it costs

Five things decide the price.

I do not publish a price list, because the same budget buys different work depending on these factors. Message me on WhatsApp or call +91 90331 72192. I quote after I see your site.

Number of videos

Four a month and twenty a month need different support.

Existing channel

A new channel needs more setup than an active one.

Production help

Briefs and scripts cost more than audit-only work.

Website integration

Schema and embeds add scope.

Audit or ongoing

An audit costs less than monthly management.

A video agency makes videos. A YouTube SEO consultant makes them findable and ties them to leads. If you already have the content, you need the second.

Who this is for

  • You publish videos that few people find.
  • You want video to support service or product pages.
  • You have a subject expert who can present.
  • You want leads from video, not only views.

Who I am not the right fit for

  • You want me to produce and edit videos. I optimise and plan, I do not shoot.
  • You want guaranteed views or subscribers. Nobody can promise them.
  • You want fake engagement. I will not buy views or comments.

How we work

I work with clients across India and abroad over video calls, WhatsApp and email.

FAQ

Questions people ask

What is YouTube SEO?

YouTube SEO is the practice of optimising a channel and its videos so they appear in YouTube search, suggested videos and Google results. It covers research, titles, descriptions, chapters, captions, thumbnails, playlists and site integration.

How does YouTube rank videos?

YouTube has said results depend on relevance, engagement and quality signals, with personal viewing history also affecting what each person sees. I optimise the parts you control and measure the rest in YouTube Studio.

Do tags still matter?

Only a little. Titles, descriptions, captions and the video itself matter far more. Tags can help with common misspellings.

Can YouTube videos rank on Google?

Yes. Videos can appear in Google results, video carousels and key-moment features. A page that embeds the video with a summary and VideoObject schema improves the odds.

How long does YouTube SEO take?

Early signals appear in a few weeks. Channel growth usually takes six to twelve months of consistent publishing. Evergreen videos can keep earning for years.

Do you make or edit videos?

No. I plan, brief and optimise. I can brief your editor and presenter.

Should I use Shorts?

If your audience watches short video and a long video can be cut well, yes. I check this per topic.

Do chapters help?

Chapters help viewers navigate and can appear as key moments in Google. I label them clearly.

How do you measure leads from YouTube?

UTM links in descriptions, GA4 events and embed tracking show visits and leads. YouTube Studio shows the audience side.

Do you have YouTube case studies?

Not on this page yet. My published proof is from Search Console. I will add video data once I have a channel export I can show.

Do you guarantee views?

No. I promise a plan, honest reporting and no fake engagement.

Send your channel link. I'll tell you what is holding it back.
